My great pleasure to welcome all students, members staff, and graduates of Faculty of Arts and Sciences- Mizda, as well as visitors to the faculty's section on the official Gharyan University web portal. I would like to express my profound pride in the vital role, that our faculty plays in fulfilling the University overarching mission. We are committed to supporting institutional efforts aimed at enhancing the quality of our academic programs at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our goal is to graduate highly qualified professionals capable of contributing effectively to the future development of Libya, especially by fostering a generation of students equipped to lead the evolution of the Libyan educational system. In alignment with our faculty's mission, we are dedicated to preparing students who are empowered to drive Libya's future progress and prosperity in accordance with internationally recognized standards. We strive to provide an optimal educational environment that facilities student success, supports the realization of their professional ambitions, and encourage the collaborative exchange of knowledge and expertise. I wish all our students every success in their academic journeys. Description
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Mizda, is one prominent constituent Colleges of the University of Gharyan. Academic instruction at the facculty commenced in the year 2000 , during that period it was affiliated with the Unvirestiy departments in Gharyan ; at that time, the students enrollment reached approximately 1000 students. The faculty ws integrated with University Mizda. In 2004, the Faculty of Arts in Mizda, and the faculty of Science at Nesma, were incorporated into Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi University. Under this administrative structure, the Faculty expanded to include the department of Behavioral Sciences and Basic Sciences at Mizda, in addition to establishing academic lecture halls located in Nesma and Tobqa. In 2014, following the restricting of the University of Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi University back to the University of Gharyan. Consequently, the institution was officially designated as the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Mizda. The Faculty continues to oversee its academic centers in Nesma and Tobqa. Furthermore, a modernized strategic academic plan has been designed to align with contemporary scientific advancements and global educational standards.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences- Mizda at Gharyan University is a prominent academic institution within the Libyan higher education system. It committed to upholding ethical values and achieving excellence in education and scientific research across the fields of humanities, linguistics, and applied Sciences at the national level. This committement is rooted in the quality of its academic and research programs as well as its dedication to support initiatives that address and societal issues.
Goals
- Creating and optimizing the academic environment for students in a systematic manner while working on their development in accordance with established educational quality standards.
- Encouraging students to acquire the principles of scientific research and sound critical thinking, and instilling a passion for knowledge and exploration within them.
- Providing consultancy and research services to various community institutions.
- Strengthen the relationship between the Faculty - as a centre of expertise- and other educational institutions, domestically and internationally.
- Finally, enriching the cultural and intellectual life of society through authorship, translation, and publishing, as well as via media outlets, conferences, and non-traditional educational programs.
